Amore Pie & More! People ask...How did you come up with that name? First off....Let's be sure you know, I am not the, "A-More" Pie Lady! LOL! That's Amore...like "Love". Now that we have that straight... Ha-ha, let's move on.
So, Amore Pie & More was born out of just that, "Love, Pie & More..."! I grew up spending a lot of time with my grandmother, Harriett Gertrude Kerns. She spent her time through the years teaching my sister and I a few, well many things along the way. My sister and I are just shy of six years apart. I am the "older one" ha-ha! When you grow up with an age difference of greater than two years with your siblings, it seems some of the memories you share are the same yet slightly different. In a lot of ways, that is yet another special way to share in conversation with your siblings as you age and mature. I love this, because it lends a way of being able to share your stories from various perspectives about the same time period. Our whole family actually plays into our full story, but back to grandma for now and her main role in, "Our Story". She made a huge impact on my life in the way of faith and love! That is a story all in itself, one I will blog about in the future. For now, I'd like to share that I came up with my business name because of her love...that is for Life, Pie & Everything "MORE" beyond that! She took her time to share her heart, teach us lessons in every turn, write to us frequently in the form of handwritten notes and letters. She blessed me with my first cookbook as I moved out on my own at 18 and a note handwritten in, to guide me about hospitality, tips and to not fear making a mistake...
Today, I don't fear. My treasure chest is overflowing because of all that she left me with and now I get to share that with you. It's so exciting for me. My sister (Dawn) and I share a passion for gathering, family, the kitchen...a place where every good life lesson is learned and now when we can, we bake together too!
If you're sitting at a place, enjoying a piece of pie and reading this, I want you to know that I am personally vested in being a part of "Your Story" and appreciate that you have stopped by here to read ours. This is how friendships are formed, we take time to stop, share a smile, shake a hand, exchange names, listen, share a "piece of pie" (life experience), or simply pass by without any words, only a head nod or a simple "Thank you, have a nice day, see you next time" and off you go. The awesome part of this is that we crossed paths, which in itself, is a "Story Starter." Part of "Our Story" and "Your Story", until next time. That's Amoré (Love)... You can be assured that when you interact with us, that we are sharing our love for life, pie, people, service & more! If we haven't already served you pie, cookies or some other treat, yet? Well, we sure look forward to meeting you soon! Cheers!
I am working on the Blog at this time as well, so stay tuned for more stories there....over pie, coffee, tea or whatever your fancy and good conversation!

"I have been blessed to have Tamara's pies on a few occasions and she never ceases to amaze me! Her Dutch Crumb Apple Pie is the best I've ever head (it surpasses the big pie company in the mountains east of San Diego which was my previous favorite!). I also LOVE the Apple Boysenberry which has a nice balance of sweet and tart."
